FO: Baby Eleanor

I've finished my version of the Lady Eleanor pattern from Scarf Style. I call it 'Baby Eleanor' because... well, you guessed it. It's smaller.

I had the day off of work today, so I finally had time to take some pictures in the daylight. Since the time change, the sky is dark when I wake up and go to work in the morning, and it is dark when I leave work in the evening. No one else I know had the day off today so my photo shoot was quite limited. Limited to the length of my arm, that is.

I am really so pleased with the way this turned out. The Noro Silk Garden worked perfectly. I alternated two different colors: #251 and #205. Needles: size 8.

I decided not to block the scarf because I like the texture entrelac creates. I feel like it would lose something if it were blocked.

trend watch: bangles

Knit bangles. Who would have thought? So quick and easy to make, and they are showing up everywhere!

Bangles pictured below from Yarborough Jewelry. How cute are the chickens in this catalog? I love the fact that all of the jewelry is handmade.

Another picture of knit bangles sent to me from a friend visiting New York:

Some of these look felted - oh the possibilities! This would be a great project to use leftover yarn from previous knits.

A really informative and easy to follow tutorial for how to make your own can be found HERE.

Hmmmm... These might make some pretty cute Christmas gifts for my friends...

spendin' all my money on me

Recently purchased goodies from across seas...

France:

Phildar Spring '07 Catalog. So many good patterns in here, I just couldn't resist.

England:

Heartfelt, Kim Hargreaves first pattern BOOK for sale. I'm so excited for this to arrive! I've always wanted to knit one of her patterns, but have been turned off by the idea of having to buy a whole 'kit'. The book is so much more appealing because it gives me the freedom to be more creative with yarn choice.
